Our Induction Training Content

The personal induction package and 12 week induction programme for all our new staff represent an impressive training portfolio and underpin Sevacare's commitment to the training and professional development of our staff. The Induction Training Course is a 3 day classroom-based induction followed by a period of shadowing (supported training on the job). The Induction Training Course content is as follows:

  • Personal Care
  • Catheter Care
  • Infection Control
  • Pressure Sore Care
  • Food Hygiene
  • Health & Safety and Personal Safety
  • Dealing With Emergencies
  • Medication
  • Safer People Handling - Moving & Handling
  • Effective Communication and information recording

Specialised training courses are given to staff working with people with challenging behaviour. These include:

  • Daily living skills
  • Promoting independence
  • Communication
  • Dementia awareness
  • Epilepsy awareness
  • Mental health awareness
  • Medication
  • Interpersonal relationships

In addition, Sevacare training officers regularly deliver courses on:

  • CIEH Food Safety in catering - level 2
  • UKHCA Medication Training - levels 1,2 & 3
  • UKHCA Stress Awareness
  • Pressure Sore Risk Assessment
  • Fire Safety Awareness
